Shay Freger is a graduate student and clinical researcher at McMaster University, studying the implications of transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in diagnosing superficial endometriosis using sonoPODography. He completed his Masters of Public Health at the University of Edinburgh, studying the risk factors asscoiated with chronic pelvic pain. Shay is a growing expert in the field of endometriosis, with a primary focus in improving non-invasive diagnostics and furthering our understanding of the pathobiology of the disease. Since joining the field of endometriosis, he has published several peer reviewed articles and has received numerous awards for academic, scientific, and pedagogic leadership. Through his experience in science communication as an eduction coordinator for The Endometriosis Network Canada, he aims to improve knowledge translation of laboratory research to both the public and clinical world.
